GoPro Cameras
GoPro has two different helmet cam models available - the new HD Hero and the original Hero Wide. The GoPro HD Hero shoots in high definition and has a rechargeable battery. The GoPro Hero Wide shoots in standard definition and runs on AAA batteries. Both the HD Hero and Hero models are available in three different kits: the Helmet, Motorsports and Surf kits. The only difference between these kits is the mounts that come in the kit.
GoPro cameras are used by more motorsports professionals, race teams and core enthusiasts than any other camera in the world. The HD HERO2: Motorsports Edition is the most advanced GoPro camera yet. Wearable and gear mountable, waterproof to 197′ (60m), capable of capturing professional full 170º wide angle 1080p video and 11 megapixel photos at a rate of 10 photos per second, the HD HERO2 is the world’s most versatile camera. Whether your goal is to capture footage of a spirited rip through backcountry roads or you want to capture and study lapping footage to learn how to set a new track record, the HD HERO2: Motorsports Edition is going to be one of your favorite motorsports purchases of all time.
Included are mounting accessories you’re most likely to use during motorsports activities. Other accessories are available via links on the right hand side of this page.

FAQS:
1. How much recording time do I get on a 2GB card?
1080P (1920 x 1080): 16 minutes
960P (1280 x 960): 22 minutes
720P (1280 x 720, 30fps): 30 minutes
720P (1280 x 720, 60fps): 16 minutes
480P (848 x 480): 30 minutes
2. What is the largest card size I can use?
The biggest SD card you can use is a 32GB card (4 hrs 21 mins in 1080P mode, 5 hrs 26 mins in 960P mode). Note that the largest file you can store is 4GB - the camera will stop momentarily when it produces a file of this size, and then restart recording a new file.
3. How long will the batteries last?
The rechargeable battery will last approximately 2.5 hours and takes the same amount of time to recharge via USB.
4. Does the GoPro HD shoot in widescreen?
Yes, all the modes are 16:9 (widescreen) except for 960P, which is 4:3.
5. Is a wide angle or telphoto lens available?
The GoPro HD has a super wide angle 170 degree field of view. This makes the video very smooth to watch, however it does makes things look further away than they actually are. There isn't any alternative lens options available for the GoPro HD.
6. Is the GoPro HD waterproof?
Yes, the GoPro HD is waterproof and is rated to 60 metres.
7. What format does the GoPro HD record in?
Videos are saved in .mp4 (H.264 compression). Windows and Mac users should find these formats easy to use.
8. Does the GoPro HD record audio?
Yes, the GoPro HD records audio. The audio has been improved over the previous model GoPro cameras.
9. Can I watch my videos back from the GoPro HD?
Yes, you can connect the GoPro HD directly to your TV and play your clips back on your TV. Alternatively, you can connect the GoPro HD to your computer and download the clips to watch/edit on your computer.
10. What are the mounts like?
The Motorsports Hero package comes with a good range of helmet and onboard camera mounts. There is enough adhesive-based mounts to stick on five helmets or other flat and curved surfaces (such as bumpers). The Suction Cup mount is strong, but like all suction cups it can let go without warning, so we suggest using a tether if you are mounting it somewhere where it will get damaged if the mount comes loose. If you don't plan to use the suction cup mount, you may want to look at the Helmet or Surf Hero packages. .
11. What is the difference between the Helmet, Motorsports and Surf Hero packages?
All these kits come with the exact same camera and waterproof housing. The only difference is the mounts that come in the package.
