Dainese 3 Plate Wave G2 "Corrugated" Back Protector ::

The Wave G2 is similar to the Wave G1 except that the G2 has 5 lower corrugations instead of 3 for the G1 which adds more protection but takes up more space.

The outer layer of the protector is formed by a stiff shell that serves to distribute impact force over the protector’s entire structure.

This external shell is composed of plastic plates with an internal net structure that guarantees better structural stiffness than other solutions while also offering reduced thickness and lower weight at the same time.
